We couldn’t imagine a better time to head out on a romantic date than during the summer! With the ample potential for free time and, as a result, far more attractions to see and experience than any other time of year, you probably want to spend this newfound time with the person you love. Luckily, we’ve compiled
a few excellent date ideas for those looking for a bit of romantic fun during all of this warm weather.
Go to the Pier for a Walk.
This is one of the most classic ideas for any date during the summer, and for good reason! We can’t think of anything more romantic than you and your significant other strolling along the boardwalk arm in arm, the sun dipping farther and farther down against the rosy horizon. Best of all, most piers host several other attractions to enjoy if walking isn’t the only thing you want to do! You can enjoy a wonderful dinner or potentially take a late evening ride on a ferris wheel, allowing you the chance to cuddle with your partner as the moon and stars begin glimmering overhead.
We can’t think of a better location than Anglins Fishing Pier in Ft. Lauderdale! Despite the name, fishing isn’t your only option for things to do in this marvelous location—though this would make for a unique couple’s experience. There are shops to gather bait if you do decide to take part in this particular activity. If fishing isn’t your thing, you also have the option of visiting several restaurants along the pier for dinner before taking a slow stroll along the pier’s edge and watching the sunset. If you’re feeling especially adventurous, however, you could always go diving! There are several services along the pier that can get you started.
Go for a Drive.
This suggestion seems to be almost everyone’s ideal activity for the summer, whether it’s with a significant other or a group of one’s closest friends. Exploring the little-known edges of your city or even venturing outside it to smaller towns can be very exciting. What’s important is your road trip doesn’t have to be a huge, planned event. Even finding a new local restaurant or district to try and explore can be a great way to spend an afternoon. All the two of you need is each other, a working automobile and a little adventurous spirit!
Admire the Stars.
This tip is ideal for both nature and astronomy lovers out there! If you live in an area that doesn’t have too much night time lighting, you and your partner can simply lie out together on a cozy, thin blanket and admire the night sky draped above you. The stars are always a breathtaking sight, whether you’re interested in astronomy or not. However, if either of you is particularly knowledgeable about stars, you can always point out the constellations to each other for a bit more fun—and even bring a telescope!
Another alternative would be to head out to your local observatory and catch a glimpse of the stars through a state-of-the-art telescope. Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy both the view of the starry sky as well as each other, draped by the moonlight.
While these ideas aren’t the only things you and your special someone can do this summer, we hope we’ve provided you with a few great ideas! Feel free to check out the rest of our blog for other suggestions for activities you can try out this summer.
